Regulo and Bizyness aren't the kind of apps that usually make news. They're both quiet, 5-star invoicing tools built for French merchants, with a few dozen reviews each. But this week they both rewrote their App Store listings on the same day, and the timing is worth noticing.
France's e-invoicing mandate technically started on September 1. What a lot of sellers still don't realize is that it actually split into two deadlines: large and mid-sized companies now have to send and receive structured e-invoices, while smaller sellers get until September 2027 to start issuing their own. Regulo rewrote its entire pitch around that distinction, and dropped its starting price to $9/month in the same update. If you sell into France, it's worth five minutes to check which deadline is actually yours.
A badge rush in chat
Shopify also handed its Built for Shopify badge — which takes real install numbers, real reviews, and fast load times to earn — to a cluster of Helpdesk and Chat apps on the same day this month. Chatbase (35 reviews, 4.8 stars) and Channel Sales Chat Bot CRM (51 reviews, 4.8 stars) both picked it up, alongside Kustomer. With AI support bots flooding the store all year, this is Shopify's way of signaling which ones actually hold up.
Climbing and slipping
Weglot, one of the most reviewed translation apps in the store, just had its best run in years — its average rating jumped from 3.78 to 4.60 as more stores go multilingual. AfterShip's order tracking app had the opposite month, dipping from 4.62 to 4.11 after a run of billing complaints. Even the biggest names have rough patches.
What merchants want next
Two requests keep piling up in the reviews: discounts tied to specific payment methods (nearly 90 mentions) and multi-language FAQs on product pages (60+ mentions). Neither is solved well yet — if you're building in either space, the demand is already sitting there.
